Over the summer holidays, lots of crops have grown well on the allotment. Much of the fruit and vegetables are ready for harvesting. However, some things were ready during our time off. These were picked and taken to a local care home. Craig, the chef, made Bombay potatoes with the tomatoes and a courgette side dish with the courgettes. The next day, another chef made courgette cake. Yum!

As soon as the pupils are back in class, we’ll begin with harvesting the rest of our produce. There are plans to use most things picked for cooking in school, though fruit will probably be eaten raw or go home with pupils. Look at our carrots, beetroot, courgettes, tomatoes, onions and apples.
