Day Five

Lagganlia
Day Four

I’ll be honest – we are lacking some detail with todays post because…. We are exhausted…!

Here are a load of photos though!

And it all came to a great end with a disco at night. Followed by a Hot Chocolate (or a brew) before bed!

Day Three

Here we go again. We are now well into our routine. Up at 7:30, breakfast at 8:00 and by 9:30 we could be down a gorge!

By the end of the day today, each group had completed 4 different main activities and here they are to tell you all about them.

Group 1 summed up by Lily: In the morning we went gorge walking and it was absolutely freezing! I liked climbing up and then sliding down. Then we climbed up a mountain this afternoon and I was extremely tired. We got to eat some snacks and see some great views. We also played games and everyone was falling over.

Group 2 summed up by Lucy: In the morning we went skiing and we learned how to get up and down the ski slope – we did the pizza shape to slow down. Then this afternoon we went abseiling – and it was really high and the scariest part was leaning backwards on the edge. Some people quit but I managed it!

Group 3 summed up by Sammy: Today we went gorge walking which was baltic and quite terrifying at times. We had to walk all the way back to our own minibus in soaked clothes and that was pretty uncomfortable. I smelled of sweat! This afternoon we went out for a little walk and once we got near the top we took a break to check out the views, make some fires and have toasted marshmallows!

Free time is a huge part of camp, getting to interact with other people, other staff, other schools and for many of them, just learning how to unwind. Here’s a few pictures of this time – we even found ourselves some proud Yorkshire Tea ambassadors!

Have we found a new camp song?

For our night activity we had the one that Abbi has been nagging on at us about all week… The nightline! A chance for the teachers to blindfold everyone and drag them around a ridiculous obstacle course, making them climb through tyres, under huge nets and through a load of mud!

Good luck finding your child in these photos!

We can’t believe the midway point has been passed already!

Day Two

So today was our first ‘proper day’ filled with a whole range of activities – and let me tell you, they are tired!

We started the day with a proper breakfast (and a game of UNO! In the boys room!) making sure everyone has enough energy to keep them going for the day. The bacon rolls went down a treat although the tired eyes tells you that some of them didn’t get to sleep until late last night!

Group 1 summed up by Logan: We went biking in the forest and then went back round. In the afternoon we went skiing on the ski slope. I was buzzing to do all the activities.

Group 2 summed up by Jude and Dylan: We went gorge walking and it was absolutely baltic. In the afternoon we got a minibus to a lake where we did some canoeing. Exhilarating! (I made them choose a word better than fun)

Group 3 summed up Jack: We went mountain biking and it was all bumpy going down paths and things – like proper biking. We biked up to the lake where got to chuck stones in and got a nice homemade biscuit thing. However… I was riding down a slope and got wiped out by a tree! Then we did some skiing and I was able to walk up by the end with the skis on.

Chicken Curry and Apple Crumble was on the menu for dinner and it was absolutely delicious – even those who didn’t eat much yesterday were definitely more hungry tonight!

Then our night time activity was called the ‘Mumbo Jumbo’. Basically, the children completed a wide range of weird tasks which hopefully the photos below will explain a little better! There was everything from creating a 3-story card tower to making knots, Mexican waves and hats out of paper!

What will tomorrow bring!

Day One

The teddy bears are packed, everyone arrived on time and the bus has headed off for the adventure of P7 Camp!

I can let you know the chanting on the bus was relentless for the first hour however we have now settled after a toilet stop at Pitlochry.

Once we were there we had to answer that age-old question of “who can make a bed?”. Some of the efforts were not too bad whilst others left a lot to be desired. You can make your own judgements below!

The first meal time was relatively successful with everyone trying to eat at least something. Tomorrow morning we have bacon rolls to look forward to!

Other things to mention include meeting our new instructors today and getting in our activity groups to plan the week ahead. We also did a ‘scatter run’ which included running wild around the centre as well as having to make up gymnastic routines and dances to Mrs Buchanan, Mr Brewer and Mr Morley!

P.s. for those who forgot a toothbrush – we managed to find them one despite two boys offering to share one!

For those children not in any photos today, we’ll make sure everyone is in at least one tomorrow!

Day One. Tick.
