Just after break time, at 10:55am, throughout the whole school, all of the children enjoy their milk and story.
It is a really peaceful, calm time when children and teachers can share in the enjoyment of a good book. We love a good story so we thought that we would share some of our stories with you.
“Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” By J.K Rowling
I couldn’t leave story time without reading one of my favourite stories. If you have been taught by me in the past, you will know that I am a huge Potter fan – I love the books, the movies and all of the characters. One of the trickiest questions that children often ask me is “Who is your favourite character?” and I honestly can never decide… Hermione? Snape? Luna? Ron? Neville? Professor McGonagall? I love them all… and I am always happy to debate their character traits in the lunch queue!
So, today’s story is a very short extract from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J.K Rowling. I hope that you enjoy it.
For those of you who are a tad on the young side for Harry Potter – be patient! These books are worth the wait and will be ready for you when you’re a little older.
I hope that you all have a lovely Summer holidays and enjoy having the freedom to explore some of the authors that you are interested in.
Remember, the book festival is all going online this year and there are various places that you can download or listen to books:
Keep reading everyone and stay safe!
