Last Tuesday, the whole school gathered together to celebrate all of the amazing Scots learning that’s being going on throughout the school and nursery. All of the Scots poetry winners from Primary 1 to Primary 7 recited their poems beautifully to a large audience; the Scots arts competition winners were announced as were the P6 and P7 Scots writing winners. Congratulations to all of our winners and well done to everyone who learned their Scots poem.
The afternoon was also full of songs with 2 extra special performances, one from the nursery children who sang “Ally Bally” and one from Primary 1, who sang “Mairi’s Wedding”. Our youngest pupils sang beautifully and pronounced lots of Scots words well.
Our assembly was brought to a close by one of our P4 Highland dancers, Lottie, who performed the Seann Triubhas – a real special treat to celebrate Scottish dance and culture. A massive thank you to Lottie for entertaining us all.
