MOVEMENT SKILLS
The Joy of Moving team from Hearts Football Club visited us on Thursday. It was great to see them as they had worked with us earlier in the year and the children were thrilled to meet up with Michael again.
As usual the session was ‘active’ with loads of games to keep everyone moving and challenged as well as promoting team work and gentle competition. Just look at the happy faces here!

CATERPILLARS
We have been learning all about the lifecycles of Frogs and Butterflies. The children have researched about frogs and are presenting their homework findings in class. We have also been observing some caterpillars. They eat so many nettles! Mrs Bennett and Mrs Mitchell keep raiding the nettle patch in the woods to keep these hungry youngsters happy. Just look at how plump they are!

Can you see through the net to spot the first chrysalis in the stage that will take the larvae from caterpillar to butterfly? Others are just beginning to hang from leaves and are ready to turn into chrysalises.

The legs are at the front of the caterpillar’s underside and the brown protrusions are ‘prolegs’ not used so much for moving as for clinging onto leaves, branches and any other surfaces. We are hoping these little ones will develop into beautiful peacock butterflies.
We will post when ‘release day’ comes. Keep your eyes peeled for updates!
