Today, P6B and P3A got together to cook soup. We used some of the vegetables that have been grown on the allotment, onions, tomatoes, and carrots. We also included celery, but that was bought. This year, due to the late spring and cold summer, the tomatoes have been very slow to ripen, and most are still green. However, we had enough to make tomato soup, though it also had a lot of carrots in it. Children practised chopping and peeling, and nearly every child tasted it, with many of them wanting second helpings. Yet again, we couldn’t have done this without all the fantastic parental support we got. Thank you everyone who came and helped us.

Here we are using a claw grip to cut safely, working as a team while the soup cooked, tasting the delicious soup and counting out the bowls.

We had a brilliant afternoon!
