Today Primary 1 went for a walk to the Corstorphine War Memorial. We have been learning about what the red poppies mean and we created our own wreath to lay down. We are also learning about our school badge and where the design comes from. The lamp in the background of the school badge originates from when a lamp used to be lit at the Old Corstorphine church to guide people over the marsh in this area. We found some lamps that were the same shape but the original was high in the wall built into the church.
