Happy birthday to us – today we officially turned 70!
On this day 70 years ago, children from nearby schools all came together to create the newly-formed Carrick Knowe Primary School. YES – their first day was in the middle of December!
Over the past month, we have been looking at what life was like in all of the decades that Carrick Knowe has been open and last week we were delighted to be able to welcome former pupils, parents and staff to come and wander our corridors. And today the First Minister, John Swinney, took time out to come and visit his old school too. It was AMAZING to hear lots of different stories from different eras and also reunite friends!
Our guests were also treated to a SPECTACULAR performance from some of our P4-P7s. One person commented “Carrick Knowe was always the best school around here” and we certainly agree!
