This week we’ve been busy cooking and learning about the 5 food groups. The P4s and P6s teamed up brilliantly for their cooking. Everyone got involved with cutting, peeling, and eating!
They were making haloumi salad pitta bread. We started by cutting the haloumi or tofu which was then grilled. While the food was cooking we sliced cucumbers, quartered tomatoes, peeled and cut carrots and sliced lettuce. When everything was ready the children spread humus on their pitta bread and chose which ingredients to put in their pitta. We were impressed by how many children tried something new and it was lovely seeing the children enjoying their food.
