Fred Frog and I were glad to be back at school at the beginning of this new school year; since then we have enjoyed hearing from our pupils about the many happy memories they made during the SUMMER holiday …

It seems ages ago since we enjoyed writing our THANK YOU cards for marvellous Mrs McMorris – we wanted to say thank you for all the fun times we had with her when she stepped in to help Fred Frog and his friends while I had to be absent from school for a wee while …

While writing to Mrs McMorris, we practised our joined-up handwriting and we used a great frog postage stamp to send our card to her by Royal Mail! 🐸

It felt like a wonderful celebraTION for me when I was able to return to CKPS in the SPRING … that’s when many of us enjoyed planting and then watching our bean seeds grow …

We made our own individual Sound Trees to take home to remind us of some of what we learned while we were in Primary 3 …

On a damp morning in JUNE, we had a great time with our P7 buddies out at the CKPS allotment – Fred Frog and Red Hat Rob had organised a QUIZ …

We made cards to celebrate Fred Frog’s 10th birthday and we wrote some thank you and goodbye messages for him …

Last October (2024), some of us planted ONION bulbs … we will soon be able to HARVEST these … Look out for what we’re going to use them for on a future BLOG!

SUMMER is rapidly becoming AUTUMN as the daylight hours and temperatures decrease; HARVEST time is here and recently we all LOVED tasting some of the delicious APPLES, PLUMS, BLACKBERRIES and PEARS which are growing on our CKPS allotment … we hope you will be able to watch our short HARVEST video below …

Before the end of the SUMMER term our PURPLE POPPIES looked splendid and were much appreciated by the buzzing bees! By AUTUMN the poppy seed heads were full of THOUSANDS of tiny black poppy seeds ready to produce more poppy flowers next summer … SUMMER and the POPPIES have gone for another year… AUTUMN has now brought us some sunny SUNFLOWERS! …

Look out for what some of us plan to do with these pretty CRAB APPLES …

By the time you’re reading this BLOG, it will be SEPTEMBER and we’re all well settled back into another busy term at CKPS. That’s all for now! Mrs Dale
