We’ve really been enjoying Scottish Maths Week in our outdoor learning lessons this week.

P4 were working hard on our allotment, tracking down and answering tricky place value, addition, subtraction and multiplication questions as well as planting our cornflower seedlings and weeding.

P6 were cleaning up our school grounds on a litter pick and taking note of what we found to make a bar chart so we could analyse the types of litter and think about how to reduce litter in future. We even found a crisp packed from 2010!

P5s were making complicated patterns out of natural materials and then removing one piece and challenging their classmates to figure out what was missing.

P2s and P3s did a brilliant job collecting sticks to create a selection of 2D shapes, we’ve been naming shapes and looking at their attributes like size and number of sides.

As always, we’ve been so impressed by everyone’s hard work and enthusiasm. Have a little look at some of our learning here.

Happy Easter from everyone at Carrick Knowe! We return to school on Tuesday 21st April.
