Primary 6 have had a fantastic start to P6 from trips to the Book festival, P6 Outdoor Challenge at Holyrood and Sports event at Forrester. We’ve been working hard to show our school termly value of Responsibility- working with P2 and P3 classes this term, as well as taking on the responsibility of writing our blogs. Our last blog of this term has been written by Abigail, Gabby and Skanda.

We went to Forrester last week to take part in a P6 sports event, joining the other Primary 6’s in our Learning Community, the children took part 2 activities from a range of sports- Badminton, Judo, Football, Rugby, Hockey, Tennis, Capture the flag and Curling.

‘We did lots of things, I did Tennis and Hockey, it was good fun but tiring’

This week Primary 6 had the great responsibility of helping not 1 but 2 Primary 2 classes make soup from the harvested garlic from our Allotment they used it to make Tomato and Garlic soup. They supported Primary 2 to cut up celery, onion, tomatoes and garlic, while the soup was cooking they designed a soup can for their soup. The verdict was the soup was delicious.

‘We made tomato and garlic soup with P2’s, it was so fun!’

As part of learning about International Languages Day, we learned what languages are spoken in our class, we have 7 other languages spoken- Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Hungarian, Polish, Thai and Nigerian. We created a display on our classroom door to celebrate these. ‘We cut out our hands to create a heart shape and added the flags and how to hello in all the languages spoken.’

I hope you all have a fabulous October break and I’m looking forward to Term 2 in Primary 6!
