We’ve had a very exciting start to Term 2 as we now have our P6 iPads and have been enjoying using them in lots of learning so far- and for this Blog- Thanks to Ayla, Emilia, Lucy and Zoe.

On Monday we got our own iPads for P6-S2 and we all love them. This now will make lessons easier and Mrs Christie will stop saying “When we get our iPads” we will now not need to use the school ones!”

Spanish this week we were learning about Spanish colours and we did some art on it as well.

We went outside and tested our new iPad cameras, and did photography of Wild life habitat and shadows and some mushrooms, we even found a Puffball a mushroom type which shoots out spores which are baby mushrooms-Emilia

We were doing some photography with Mr harper, it was really fun cause we saw some mushrooms like Puffballs, I really enjoyed it and I’d like to do it again!-Ayla

We have enjoyed working with P2 again, this time on the Allotment, helping weed the raised beds and plant some new flowers.

We rounded off our Ancient Egypt, by learning about Mummification, in groups mummifying someone in our group, then had to find out facts and stick them to our Mummy- we felt like embalmers, we were glad we didn’t have to remove anyone’s brains through their nose.

We also did an experiment where we mummified an apple, we made our our natron mixture- in one cup was an apple with nothing and in the other one covered with our mixture, Embalmers used natron to dry out the pharaoh’s bodies. We made predictions about what we thought would happen, the salt mixture started to change colour as it sucked out the apple juice and went a bit crunchy.

To round off our topic and as our Assessment we created an Ancient Egyptian build in Minecraft where we had to create a pyramid structure, include secret rooms and traps for tomb robbers, have hidden treasure and have a symmetrically decorated entrance.
