Primary 2 had a fantastic visit to Craigmillar Castle as part of our learning context, Scottish Castles.
We enjoyed a wonderful tour of the castle â which included climbing lots of stairs! During the tour, we spotted many different castle features, including arrow loops, a dungeon, the Great Hall, the bailey, and the battlements, as well as many more. We even made it all the way to the top, where we were excited to spot Edinburgh Castle in the distance.
After our tour, we were lucky enough to eat lunch in the Great Hall, where we felt like royalty!
After lunch, we looked at a variety of historic artefacts. This included quills, a bow and arrow, a chalice, shackles, and many other interesting items. We even had the chance to try on some armour!
