At the end of Term 3, the Eco Reps and the Rights Respecting Schools Reps had a meeting to discuss issues we are facing in our local community. They identified that litter is a problem within the school grounds because of the birds accessing the bins and pulling out rubbish. We have started a campaign called Clean Up Carrick Knowe to raise awareness and to fundraise for some new bins with lids to try and prevent the birds accessing them.
The Eco and Rights Reps launched a poster campaign during assembly and they visited local shops and business to display some of these posters. Keep an eye out for them in the local area! The Reps also highlighted links to the Sustainable Development Goals and the UNCRC rights.

All children will be taking part in a sponsored litter pick during May or June, and we are grateful for any donations to this cause.
