We have had a SPUDtacular time in P1 this week.
Potato Harvest
On Tuesday we harvested and counted our potatoes. When we planted them in March we estimated how many potatoes we thought we would get at harvest time. Drum roll… we got 131 potatoes! Our tattie king and queen both predicted 100 potatoes and were closest to the total.
Preparing potatoes
We washed and dried our potatoes, and then on Thursday we chopped them into wedges.
Eating!
We cooked our wedges in the oven and got to taste them. Everyone agreed they were yummy and we shared the left overs with adults and other classes across the school.
Potato creations
We created our own potato heads to celebrate our tattie-tastic week.
