… Spell. Spell who?
W. H. O. 🤣
DID YOU KNOW?! The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists in Scotland are currently running a campaign to raise awareness of the joy and importance of communication, and how to improve spoken language skills. This takes the form of a national joke competition called Voicebox. The deadline for joke entries is 1st April 2024.

Click here to see the coverage on STV.
The child with the funniest joke from each local authority will be invited to the grand final in the Scottish Parliament on 6th June. The finalist will get travel paid for, £100 worth of books and the chance to win up to £500 of books for their school and a toy voucher up to £100!
Why not show your child the STV clip above and encourage them to join in the fun. They should choose a favourite joke and be prepared to share it with other children in Primary 3-7. Mrs Henderson is kindly inviting all those who would like to enter to go to her P6A classroom on Tuesday 26th March at lunchtime; the jokes will be shared and judged, and the best one chosen! If your child has a favourite joke, why not encourage them to join in the fun?

As you know, CKPS is a RIGHTS RESPECTING SCHOOL so we’re often talking about our rights and the UNCRC (The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child); to find out more about this why not watch this one minute clip at https://youtu.be/ZbvIpIeO4fU and also take a look at our new display in the mini slideshow below, or, better still, next time you’re in school you’ll find the display near Fred Frog’s room …

P7 pupils have been using MIND MAP skills to help make notes about and summarise the contents of the book they’re reading. Two people in the room that day had actually seen Mount Everest with their own eyes – albeit from a distance!
Our P7 DYSLEXIA CHAMPIONS have made sure that each P3 to P7 class now has two new fidget toys added to the class DYSLEXIA TOOLKIT. There was great teamwork as turns were taken to use joined-up writing to write the notes to go with the fidget balls …

🐸Fred Frog’s P3 friends were busy using pipe cleaners – made from wIRE – to create and spell the letters needed to spell rhyming words ending with ‘ire’; some of these words were also used in this week’s matching pairs memory game as well as in some storytelling about a tired vampire!….
