Fabulous Fractions
We have started to learn about fractions in P4. We have been enjoying learning together playing lots of games.
Alexander Graham Bell – The Telephone
We have been investigating how sound waves travel. We had great fun using the tin can telephones to communicate with each other.
Writing
The genre of writing we have started to learn about is adventure stories. Stage one has been developing our main character and setting the scene.
Meet Iona, she has been inspired by the character, Merida, from the film Brave.
We are looking forward to writing our adventure stories.
Building Resilience
We were very lucky last week to have some parents visit our class for our ‘Talking Things Over’ lesson. We discussed why we should never bottle up our worries and that it always helps to share them. One of the children mentioned that she had a ‘Worry Monster’ who she often shared her worries with so P4 decided that they would all like to make their own ‘Worry Monsters’ to take home, and we kept one to keep in the class too.
Free Writing
Primary 4 have one lesson a week where they get to take part in ‘free writing’. Over the last couple of weeks, P4 have been using Ipads and keyboards to complete their writing instead of doing this in their jotters. The feedback from the class has been very positive about how much they like doing writing in this way. 🙂
