Meeting Willy the Tortoise
P4 got another surprise pet visiting the class this week. It was Mrs Crawford’s Tortoise – Willy. The children loved meeting Willy. They got the opportunity to hold him and to pet him.
Different Families
Over the last two weeks we have be designing pictures all about our families. We focussed on the kind of things our families do together, the food we eat, the places we go and the things we celebrate. The children then had the opportunity to look at each other’s pictures and identify similarities and differences they had with each other. We discussed the importance of accepting and enjoying everybody’s differences as this is what makes us and our families unique.
We also investigated how adults in our lives keep us HAPPY, HEALTHY AND SAFE. We read the book ‘Our Daddies’ together and came up with a list of all the ways the daddies in the story keep their little girl happy, healthy and safe. We then thought about how the adults in OUR lives keep us happy, healthy and safe.
