Science trip to Edinburgh University
At the University we learned about the different parts of the brain and what each part does, our nose and mouth and our senses. We also did a little experiment, where we put nose pegs on our nose and ate sweet, you couldn’t taste anything with the peg on, when you took it off you could start to taste the sweet-Kieran
Money, money, money
For our Maths we have been working with money, we’ve been adding amounts and working within budgets having to work out change as well. I love this kind of Math because you need to think, but also build we did a golf course and had a budget to build a new crazy golf hole for Volcano Falls with KNEX our budget was £4. We then looked at how quickly money adds up, by having a budget of £50 to go to Volcano Falls with a friend and play 1 or 2 games and get lunch- Lucas J
We also set up our own cafes and had to take on roles to work our total order costs and change or as the customer adding on a tip and counting out the money to pay, at the end of our shifts we split our tips among the class.
Genius Hour
Genius hour is where we have all chosen our own question/topic we want to find out more about we have to plan out our projects, we completed a KWL for our questions- what do we already KNOW, what do we WANT to know, and what did we LEARN at the end, we kept a blog we filled in after each hour.
I did my genius hour about dinosaurs what the impact of them being alive on earth and how they were extinct, I made a keynote and a sketch book here they are- Mehmet
