What a fantastic start to outdoor learning this term! The children have been so enthusiastic and put in such a brilliant effort.

Our P5s, 6s, and 7s have been absolute stars, weeding and tidying the allotment with so much energy. They’ve already managed to harvest some of our plums, blackberries, and apples! We can’t wait for the other classes to get their hands dirty and help out soon.

It’s not just about gardening, though. We’ve been busy with nature walks and playing lots of fun teamwork and communication games. Our P2s demonstrated excellent teamwork in the outdoor challenge to make a home for a toy animal out of natural materials.

The P3s, P4s and P5s also took part in class brainstorming sessions and produced art for Edinburgh Council to help them create a citywide vision for outdoor learning.

There’s so much more to look forward to this term. Here are a few photos of what we’ve been up to!

Happy Easter from everyone at Carrick Knowe! We return to school on Tuesday 21st April.
