This term in P1 we have been focusing on our Zones of Regulation and understanding the different feelings we have. We spoke about all the different reasons for why we might be in each zone. We then discussed it’s ok to be in a red, yellow or blue zone but how do we get ourselves back to the green zone?
Through our work in our Building Resilience unit Talks Things Over we have started to explore ways to get our worries, anger and sadness out to help move in to a more content zone (green).
We had a brilliant morning sharing our learning with our families, thank you for joining us! During this time we made pictures showing the different faces and emotions we might see in each zone. We then made calming bracelets, which help you take 10 big deep calming breaths by moving each bead. We also made sensory “stress” balls with flour, which was a big hit with the children.
