As part of World Book Day, this week everyone at Carrick Knowe has been completing lots of fun activities which encourage a love of reading.
Primary 1 took their first independent trip, without our buddies, to Corstorphine Library. We had a brilliant time seeing all the different books. We completed a scavenger hunt, looking for different animals around the library. We also had the opportunity to design our own book covers, which they took home.
In class this week, P1A also took their favourite book in from home and told the class a little bit about their book and why they love it so much. They also had the opportunity to create their own book cover, that they feature in! Some of the children chose to recreate a cover from a favourite book but some created their own books.
On Friday, lots of us came to school dressed as our favourite character from a story. It was great fun taking part in the parade with the rest of the school.
