In the past, pupils have learnt a lot about the importance healthy eating, but on Wednesday, Primary 5 concentrated on the value ‘eating a rainbow’, when eating fruit and vegetables. This is because different coloured fruit and vegetables give us different nutrients. Afterwards, we made fruit kebabs. We used red apples and purple plums, as we grow both of these fruits every year on our school allotment. We also used green kiwis, yellow pineapples and orange satsumas. Everybody enjoyed preparing the kebabs and most children ate at least four out of the five fruits.
